In Memory

We lost another beloved pet this past weekend – Brandi, much loved family member of Jason & Trinh of Leesburg, VA, passed away after a valiant battle with renal failure.

Brandi was adopted at the advanced age of 11,  yet she brought 5 years of joy to Jason & Trinh.

We extend our condolences to the Wauer’s on the loss of their much loved family member. May your many years of wonderful memories bring you some comfort.

With love and gratitude for bringing this small bundle of spirit into your lives.

Lacy

Our string of gorgeous evenings continued last night in northern Virginia. So we got to meet Lacy.

Lacy is a terrier mix who was rescued from a shelter in east Tennessee several years ago.  Since then she has been in her forever home in Ashburn, VA.  Besides the fact that her humans are two wonderful dog parents- Lacy also has lucked out in that she was adopted by a pair of master gardeners!

So, Lacy spends her days chasing chipmunks (“chippies” to her) and rabbits and lounging in the beautiful gardens at her home.

Besides our beautiful setting, Lacy may very well be the nicest dog I’ve ever photographed.¬† Not many dogs will let you get inches from their face with a 16mm lens.¬† Didn’t faze this girl…

All dogs should be this sweet. Thanks for a great shoot Lacy!

Gibson

I told you we had a busy weekend! After our outside romp with Cody (see below) we settled into the barn for an inside session with Gibson.

Gibson is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd. Sadly, he has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.¬† He has good and bad days.¬† We’re so glad we were able to photograph him on one of his good ones!

He was full of play and good humor. And even took a few moments to strike some beautiful poses.

We wish Gibson many more happy and beautiful days!

Cody

We started early yesterday Рjust after sunrise.  Then we spent the next 2 hours romping through the farm fields with Cody, a 10 year old red heeler.

Though Cody suffers from arthritis and an endocrine disorder called Cushings disease, you’d never know it as he explored the farm!

And we covered it all – from the barn at the bottom to the vineyard at the top!

Cody was severely abused before finding his forever home with his human, Elena. And though he remains a wary dog with strangers, it didn’t surprise me that by the end of the session I was able to get in close with my beloved 50mm lens.¬† I think dogs just know.

Thanks Cody for sharing your morning with us!

Gibson

We had 2 great shoots today. I’ll have more on the blog by tomorrow. I just had to post this image though of Gibson. I laughed out loud when I came upon it.¬† I think this gives you a general idea of how he felt about his photo shoot!
