Tis The Season

As I scurry to stay ahead of holiday deadlines at my labs I find myself at the computer for hours on end.¬† Niles and Lily, always my companions, are fairly patient most of the time.¬† Today however, despite the gloomy skies, they said, “Let’s get out for a bit.”

So we took a break and romped and walked and barked and smelled.  Ahhh.

To be a dog on a cool fall day.

Bailey – June 26, 1995 – November 12, 2008

We were saddened yesterday to learn of the loss of Bailey Noe.  We were scheduled to photograph her at her home this coming Monday.

Though she seemed to be in stable condition, her diabetes took a dramatic downturn, and her humans decided to relieve her suffering yesterday.

We didn’t get to meet Bailey and I am just so sad about this.¬† Photographing these aged, wise dogs is important to me.¬† Because I know when they’re gone their humans find great comfort in our photographs.

Sadly we didn’t get the chance with Bailey.¬† Our deepest sympathy to the Noe family.¬† As Bob Noe said, “She taught us so much about unconditional love.”

Holiday Card Wrap Up – A Gorgeous Trio & a VERY LARGE DOG!!

We finished our holiday card sessions with a family shoot as well as a make-up session for our favorite 3 cockers.

Grizz, the chocolate lab, and Obie, the giant St. Bernard, brought their family out for a card session.  We had a great time and I was glad I had a barn to shoot in!

This raucous and playful bunch was followed by the return of Sophie and Lexie with their newest addition brother, Harley!¬† We shot Sophie and Lexie at the farm last summer.¬† Lexie’s brother, Harley joined them in time for their holiday session.¬† He got the featured single image here since he missed the summer session!

Have you ever seen such big fluffy feet??!!¬† I loved the Hollywood drama of his single shot!¬† After the “bull in the china shop” with Obie, these three sort of danced and floated about as we shot.

What fun!

Finally the Weimeraners!

Yesterday Riley and Chloe returned to finish what they’d started when my dear Nikon decided to depart this world for a week or so!

As our fall is turning rapidly to winter, and the light rides low on the horizon, we had a chance to romp the farm with two marvelous dogs.

First there is Riley. A striking “blue” color and wonderful to photograph- full of shadows and textures.¬† Though you see him here in some regal poses please note he is a “character.” Watch the treat bag and toys at all times for he is always on the prowl.

Next is his younger sister Chloe.  A sweet and happy girl.  Beside herself with all the sitting, standing and posing we asked of her Рbut happy to do so for the right treats!

This pair gave us a run with their high energy antics. We look forward to making their holiday card!

Louie and Bruder – Schnauzers!

On Saturday we had the pleasure of running the farm fields with Louie and Bruder.  Louie is the gorgeous standard Schnauzer. Bruder is his delightful rescued schnauzer-mix brother. How about these beautiful faces??

As usual, two distinct personalities. Bruder was all about fun. Louie was all about trying to do what we asked so he could get  his picture taken and then go smell something else!

These were two lovely dogs and very much loved by their humans, Carol and Ken. Thanks for spending your day with us!
