Commanche

Sadly, I just received word that Commanche, the 16 year old horse of Jana Okonski, was euthanized last Friday after a tough battle with laminitis.¬† We met Commanche last spring when Jana asked us out to do a birthday session for Jana’s husband and his horse Apollo.

Towards the end of the session, as the last of the light dimmed, I caught this one of Commanche who had been romping just earlier with his pal Apollo.

I remember laughing at the many horse stories Jana and her husband told me during their ordering session. They have a long horse history.  I know that when a bit of time passes and the pain eases, those stories will be a wonderful source of happy memories of times with Commanche.  My heartfelt sympathy to the entire family.

Honoring Those Who Have Served

On a frosty early morning we took time from our hectic holiday season to honor those who have served their country.

For some it was a somber day, for others a festive one.  For all it will be memorable.
