In Memory – Pitch 5/27/97- 8/2/12

I got the news while I was on vacation. We had lost another of our favorites – Pitch.  I remember this session like it was yesterday. It had been a long time coming.  Originally on the schedule in 2008, fall pressed too quickly into winter that year, the leaves dropped, and the decision was made to wait another year.  So finally, in November of 2009, we traveled the lovely winding roads of western Loudoun county to the home of Pitch and Duke.  The weather was spectacular. The property memorable. And of course, there were dogs!!

Pitch and Duke – the inseparable duo.  It was a perfect, perfect day.

The family has since moved to Colorado but the news made it back to me when they lost Pitch (for Pitch Black) late this summer.

In sympathy and in memory of a truly great dog and family member – Pitch.  Memories of that wonderful Virginia fall day still resonate with me.

John Lambert - Bev, this memorial you posted for our beloved Pitch is incredibly appreciated. We remember fondly that gorgeous day as well when Pitch & Duke showcased their property for you and your lens caught their sheer joy of living. An exceptionally brave, resolute, genuine, all-in, honorable and unforgettable spirit—that was Pitch. Gone in presence but present in our hearts forever, that is Pitch.
