I'm thrilled to have you visit my blog! I have specialized in Fine Art Pet Photography in the northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. area for the past 10 years.

Most recently I've moved to Asheville, NC and am doing only limited client work. My recent path has me working on several photography projects, most of course, involve dogs.

Please check back often for updated project work!

September 15 – Happy Tuesday!

I always enjoy seeing my images in the Workman Gallery Calendar. But my heart skips a beat when I turn to a day that features one of my own. Today they are featuring my dear, sweet, boy Niles. Gone nearly 3 years but always alive and “arooing” in my heart….

Sweet Memories – Jenny

We learned today of another loss. I had the pleasure of photographing Jenny and her partner in crime, Sadie, back in the fall of 2009. Here is a link to the original post.  We spent a spectacular morning on their beautiful property in western Loudoun County. She struggled then with arthritis. To think she lived another 6 years is amazing. A testament to her human Nancy’s great care and immense love.

Sadly missed I know. But warm memories will sustain Nancy – this I know too. With great sympathy on your loss. RIP sweet girl.

WALTER! Happy August 18th!

Moons ago, many in fact, I worked individually with photographers who wanted to work on their pet photography skills. This photographer, Wanda of Red Leash Studio, brought along her muse, Walter. A perfect gentleman. A perfect model.  We made a lovely day of it.

In Memory – Tanner

We received some bad news yesterday about the loss of another great dog.  Our friends, Margaret and Ted, lost their beloved Tanner yesterday at age 11. We met Tanner in 2010 when I queried the trainers at Dog Day Afternoon in Leesburg, VA about a cover I was about to shoot for NOVA Dog Magazine.

It was a story on dog friendly B&B’s in NOVA and I needed the “perfect” dog.  Stately, dignified, “country-inn ready.” We got that with Tanner, and more.  He approached this shoot as though he owned the place and was merely taking us on an tour  and kindly sat for a few portraits whilst telling us the story of The Welbourne Inn.

We are so sorry for this family’s loss. A dog with this much presence leaves a very, large, hole.   We are honored to have spent the day with this amazing dog.

God speed Tanner.
